The Music and the Drink

Jazz: Fair Weather by Art Farmer (1958)
Scotch: Auchentoshan Three Wood

It's the start to a summer day and you need to get that bounce in your step. The sun is shining and Fair Weather by Art Farmer is playing in the background. Full of light-hearted mute trumpet and saxophone solos supported by a laid back, yet upbeat rhythm section, Fair Weather is sure to get you off to a great start. At the end of the day, kick back with a refreshing Auchentoshan Three Wood single malt scotch, on the rocks. Matured in three types of wood casks, the Three Wood carries a bold, complex mix of butterscotch toffee, sherry oak, and citrus.

The Post

The theme of this post is emphasizing certain pieces with pastel colors. If there's any time of the year to go bold with color, its the summer. The best way to do it is with pastel-colored shorts! Anything from salmon pinks (as seen above) to mint greens, bright yellows, and snazzy blues, will give your outfit a nice pop. A neutral shirt, such as my gray denim button-down, helps draw attention to the shorts. To finish things off, I matched my brown watch strap to my boat shoes to create "borders" that frame the rest of my outfit. It's appealing to the eyes to match the watch strap to the color of your shoes, either with the same color or with complementary colors. However, that's not always the case and it's up to you to decide what piece you want to emphasize. So whether you're headed to work or headed to the beach, adding some pastels will definitely brighten your day!

Until next time!
